The season for this popular 44 mile trip typically begins in April and runs through October. It usually takes between three and six days to travel with put-in at the Lodore Ranger Station (5,335') at Brown's Park, Colorado and take-out at the Split Mountain Boat Ramp (4,780') located at the Dinosaur National Monument, seven miles north of Jensen, Utah.

Hikes along the way include Pot Creek, Rippling Brook, Echo Park and Jones Hole. Fishing is good for catfish and trout at Jones Hole Creek, so be sure and get your Utah fishing license. Bring your camera and keep an eye out for deer, beaver, Bighorn sheep and a variety of raptors that may be sighted along the way.

Launching Rafts at Lodore

The recommended level of water is starting minimum flows of 800 increasing to 6,500 cfs with a gradient of 13 feet per mile. Raft sizes range from 12' to 30'. Permit information can be obtained by contacting Dinosaur National Monument at 970-374-2468.
